Welcome to Halley. By using our App, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). Please read them carefully.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Halley. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. During registration, you are required to provide your date of birth, and the App will verify that you meet the minimum age requirement before allowing account creation.

2. Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must provide accurate information during registration. You may not create accounts for others or use another person's account without permission.

3. User Conduct

When using Halley, you agree not to:

Post false, misleading, or deceptive profile information
Upload photos that you do not have the right to use
Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
Use the App for commercial purposes or solicitation
Impersonate any person or entity
Upload illegal, obscene, or harmful content
Attempt to access other users' accounts
Use automated systems (bots) to interact with the App
Engage in catfishing, scamming, or any form of fraud
Use the App to distribute hate speech or discriminatory content

Zero Tolerance for CSAE: Halley maintains an absolute zero-tolerance policy towards Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE). Any content depicting, promoting, or facilitating the sexual abuse or exploitation of minors is strictly prohibited. Users found sharing, soliciting, or possessing such material will be immediately and permanently banned, reported to the relevant law enforcement authorities (including the Royal Malaysia Police and INTERPOL), and all associated data will be preserved for investigation. This applies to all forms of content including photos, messages, and profile information.

4. Content

You retain ownership of content you upload (photos, bio, messages). By uploading content, you grant Halley a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute your content within the App for the purpose of providing our services. This license ends when you delete your content or account, except where your content has been shared with others and they have not deleted it.

5. Matching and Communication

Halley provides tools for users to discover and communicate with each other. We do not guarantee any particular outcome from using the App. We are not responsible for the conduct of any user on or off the App.

6. Advertising

Halley is a free service supported by advertising. You may be shown rewarded video ads to unlock additional features (e.g., additional swipes). Ad content is provided by third-party networks (Google AdMob).

7. Safety

We take safety seriously. You can report or block any user at any time. We review reports and take action including warnings, suspensions, or permanent bans. However, we cannot guarantee the identity or intentions of any user. Please also refer to our Community Guidelines for detailed safety rules.

8. Intellectual Property

The Halley name, logo, trademarks, visual design, source code, algorithms, and all associated intellectual property are owned exclusively by Halley and its operators. You may not:

Copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App's code, design, or branding
Use the Halley name or logo without prior written consent
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
Create derivative works based on the App
Use any Halley trademarks in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation without permission

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Halley, its operators, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:

Your use of or conduct on the App
Your violation of these Terms or any applicable law
Your violation of any rights of a third party
Any content you upload, post, or transmit through the App

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms or our Community Guidelines. You may delete your account at any time through the App settings or by following the instructions on our Account Deletion page.

11. Disclaimer

Halley is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the App.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Halley shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of the App.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Malaysia.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
